New Year

first-snow-of-the-year

First Snow of 2017

Amazing how each year begins
With a day no different than the one before
And yet we unwrap this day like a holiday
Ready with wonder for what’s in store.
Every day – before, here, later – brings
Newness in the details
Even if it’s in the same old things
So, may this year be merry, and full of
Splendid things – riches of blessings and fortune to rival that of kings.

Happy New, my friend. I loved the poem. The picture made me realize how fortunate I am to be in the desert. You have been too long absent from your writing. Of course, I Tweeted.

  4. Happy New Year, T! I was thinking about how we falsely assign a new start to this time of year, but I’m also finding it very useful in giving renewed energy to take stock of things and change what I would like to set on better schedules and better paths within myself. Life is feeling fresh again for me after the holiday season, and that’s a good thing to be sure.
